Spring has sprung

Am too busy. Do not know how this happened. IW has moved to an Assisted Living, and I have been in charge of the move. So, I guess that is the answer. Her apt @ Liberty Towers is still full of stuff.  Will have to miss dye group tomorrow to get another stab @ getting things out that do not belong. Need to call a shredding company. Cher helped today, but I cannot seem to get caught up. Bill will be here in a minute to take me to Bette's house with him and then to dinner. He seems like he is in a good mood which is surprising since this is tax day.
Went to Hunter's birthday party Saturday in Norman. Had a great time. All the "extended family" was present, and everyone was in a good mood. Hunter had a great time, and so did Caden. The weather cooperated, and the pool was fun!
Hopefully next week will be a little slower. We are going on vacation in May. Cannot wait!!  Only 6 weeks to go!!

Snowy Winter Day

Christmas was horrible. It's over. Getting to know my new self and redefining who I want to be. Volunteering in church this morning was so much fun. At least we enjoy what we do with Tulsa Master Recyclers.
Heard from Nick that he may be losing his job--is on 60 day probation and looking for another one. What is it going to be next? Feel so sorry for him right now. Wish I could make the pain go away.
Good time having lunch w/Susan at Cosmos Cafe in Brookside. Great lentil soup, humus, and carrots.
Work tomorrow? I don't even want to think about it.

Alone after Christmas

I am home alone. Bill is @ Susan's watching the Eagles game. He will return soon. Busy day with stop @ Mr Nelson's home to take his car for a spin and look for items Melanie left, or thought she left. Dinner w/Melanie and Joe last night was good but not long enough. We enjoy their company so much. They will be back sometime in the Spring with Richard to look @ the house again. No realtors @ this point.

Hope I get to sew tomorrow. Been catching up on my emails today and arranging my schedule for the next few days/weeks. Unboxing Day event is really going great guns!  Plan to volunteer on Friday and noon. I hope Bill gets to take some time off that day. He has been working hard!

Saw The King's Speech today about King George VI and  his stuttering problem. Glad I am a speech pathologist.

Kim just called. She and Alexander are on their way to Albuquerque. They took the long way to Sedona on their trip home from Vegas.

Nick is sick--another sinus infection. Hope he is better soon.

Mother

Mother left this world on Dec 1. I miss her much but glad that I was able to spend those last 4 days with her during the day in OKC. It has not been easy with distribution of her estate and the final matters needed tending to. Had to hire an atty to help.
Kids were here yesterday. Caden had an episode with Hunter and Paeton. He lost all of his electronics. Had a great trip to see the lights @ Rhema Bible College. Unbelievable light display. Hunter and I walked over the bridge of lights. Hope we can go next year. Nick and kids went back home today but will be back tomorrow for Christmas. I'll be with Inalea in the morning, then hopefully some nice warm soup for lunch.
Maybe I will get to sew today. That would be oh so cool. I need to have a fabric fix!

Pre-Thanksgiving Day

Slept in late, cleaned the kitchen, and took an hour-long walk. Training for the marathon, or rather half-marathon next November (Route 66), you know. Kim said she would walk the 1/2 marathon w/me. Yeah!

Preparing a list for Thanksgiving tomorrow. Will have some usuals along w/brunch and veggie soup. Wish I could go to the store but have no car right now.

It's 69 degrees and very windy. Better get busy on the rest of the house cleaning duties.

Nov 15, 2010

Today is special. America Recycles Day. I changed my picture on FACEBOOK to reflect recycling and wrote 2 posts on recycling. I am so thrilled Bill and I recycle together. Has been fun. And Susan is always by our side. TMR meeting this week and recycling for Route 66 Marathon this Saturday night.
Both of us under the weather w/colds. Guess we are just worn out from visit of little girls. Boy, they were so good, and we sooooo enjoyed playing w/them. Maria loves to talk and is so incredibly smart. Little Haley is all over the place with zeal. Her temper already shows, but we are not surprised. Haley's first bday celebration @ Susan's was fantastic--great weather, great food, and fun had by all.
I'm inspired to blog more about my comings and goings. Think it will be a good thing.
Worked for Bill some today, but did not do much. Better get busy or he will find someone else to help him!
Mother has UTI we think but lab is not back yet. She is on Microban and still making it!
Sent the scarves I made to New Mexico on Thursday. Was so much fun to create. Need to do that every day not just ever once in a while.

Sunday, February 28, 2010

Today is Sunday. With Bill's help, the dining room is finally cleared of leftovers from Mother's house. The crystals are on the chandelier and shine oh so brightly. Worked a little for Bill in his office and tried Quickbooks Online but could not log in. Finally finished summarizing Bill's taxes. Need to get back to mine this week, then I'll be ready to turn over to him. CCHP is meeting again this week--w/atty; I dread having so much of my time taken up w/that project. Miss Mr Nelson and don't want to give up his house. Kirk and I did pre-planning for Mother's death. She will be cremated with no service planned. I'm going to work on the obituary. Decided on Clarehouse and Friends of NWC for donations. Kirk will send obituary that Mother wrote herself. Speaking of Mother - - - talked to her briefly this weekend, and she said, "Come see me sometime." Heard from Amyee today that her dad has had a TIA and is now in Baptist Hospital for a complete workup. She said Caden has his own website--something to do with Penguins. He and I talked on line this week for the first time. What a guy! Hunter is still very low with writing and reading comprehension; will probably qualify for LD classes. Testing will probably be next year. Had Susan over for dinner last night to watch the Olympics; salad was delish. Bill has been sweet to me this week. Sure is nice. I'm hoping the end of winter is close. I'm ready to spend some time outside.
